Autonomous Cars Might Create New Risks

Recently someone shot a video showing a Tesla Driver asleep while the car is in slow but heavy traffic.

I am sure we will get there, but this can take few years and although I believe Tesla will be the safest car on the road I can see how due to other drivers and unexpected circumstances the driver attention will still be required. Even airplanes that use autopilots for the past 40 years still mandate that the pilots will be fully awake, and this with almost no traffic around.

However, the less you need to do as a driver, the more likely it is that you will fall asleep. In the future, this will be nice and dandy, but for now, regulators will not allow that. And the burden to stay awake will be on the driver.

So what can you as an Autonomous-Car-Driver do?

Well if you own a Tesla or another autonomous vehicle, use Talkuccino. The app will show a few popular discussion topics to select from and will match you with another driver male or female to discuss the topic with. One of the topics, for instance, is Politics and if a heated discussion between a Republican & Democrat is what you had in mind, go for it. I am sure it will keep you awake and maybe help our nation close the national divide between people.
